# Waiting for Feedback By:: [[Ross Jackson]] 2024-01-15 It is interesting to wait for feedback. This is especially true when one sought feedback at a point earlier. It is as if some people refuse to get ahead of schedule. They are behind, have an opportunity to accelerate, and refuse to take it. The people doing work are forced to do one of two things: press ahead and hope for the best, or wait for feedback. Either option has a risk. If one pushes forward, there could be scraping and reworking, as the work might no longer be what the client wants. If one waits for feedback, one loses time that could have been used to work on the project. Classic Catch-22. As one waits for feedback, one’s mind wonders. It is difficult to know why the person always behind refuses to get ahead when the opportunity presents itself. Maybe the project isn’t all that important. Maybe the person doesn’t know what he wants. Maybe the person likes the chaos of doing things at the last minute. It doesn’t matter what the reason is. The fact of the matter is that waiting for feedback is unenjoyable. Sometimes, the feedback is worth the wait. Often it isn’t. As Tom Petty and Heartbreakers declared, “The waiting is the hardest part.” And so it is. #### Related Items [[Feedback]] [[Authority]] [[Process]] [[Organization]] [[Work]]
