# Types of Managers - The Corporate Stooge By:: [[Ross Jackson]] 2023-01-05 There are managers for whom the company, any company for which they work, can do no wrong. This type of manager is the company stooge. For these managers, every decision the company makes is the right one. All those in the organization are lucky to work there. No sacrifice is too great to make. If the workforce needs to work late, over the weekend, or have their vacations interrupted, no measure taken by the organization is asking too much for the company that is all and gives all. The company stooge and the organization have fused; the manager’s identity is inseparably linked with the company itself. They are one. The company stooge cannot understand when the workforce grumbles about a corporate decision. To the company stooge, the complaining workforce seems ungrateful. This type of manager is estranged from the workers. The company stooge does not provide context or rationales for decisions. No reasons are needed. If the company decided, that’s all one ever needs to know. The company stooge is committed to the company no matter what and expects the same level of commitment from the workforce. Getting promoted by this type of manager requires one to adopt a similar zealotry for the organization. The company stooge will own a variety of company golf shirts. #### Related Items [[Management]] [[Business]] [[Types of Managers]]
