Professional wrestling with Hulk Hogan, the Rock, and John Cena is an interesting entertainment domain. Less anyone thinks otherwise; the fighting is fake compared to boxing or MMA, yet these individuals are decidedly talented, athletic, and charismatic. While they are not trying to injure each other, they do extraordinary feats that cause pain and are dangerous. The amount of wear and tear they put on their bodies cannot be denied when one considers they have one of the highest death rates of any profession. But, this is not the most interesting part of this form of entertainment, as American Football demonstrates the same level of physical pain and suffering. The most interesting part is how it shows a deep understanding of human psychology, chooses to use it to entertain, and that most intellectuals dismiss it. Suppose one were to watch the pageantry, language, and storylines of professional wrestling and compare with it something like Nazi Germany and the speeches of Hitler. In that case, one might see more similarities than differences. One might also see the same tactics used by many emerging politicians. If one wishes to know the future of this discourse, watch the evolution of Professional Wrestling tactics of engagement and story development. One cannot hope to solve a societal problem from high in the ivory tower and only consume 'elite' and 'intellectual' mediums. One must find balance, live in society, and venture down avenues if one is serious about progress.
