# The Personality Test with the Highest Business ROI By:: [[Brian Heath]] 2024-04-11 Here's a trick that works on nearly every modern American business employee and potentially any employee working within the modern American business paradigm. First, have them take a test asking them what they do and don't like. Be sure to characterize the reason for this test as to improve something related to work or themselves, such as teamwork, communication, or time management. It doesn't matter what the reason is as long as it comes from an authority figure within the organization and promises success in some capacity. Second, take a day or two to analyze the results. This analysis could be anything, but I recommend doing nothing. If inclined to go above and beyond, one could perform statistical analysis, meditate over the answers to discern the resulting cosmic energy, or put the answers in a trash can and measure the weight on the scale. The critical part here is the time delay and mystery behind how one did the analysis. If anyone asks how the analysis was performed, say it is proprietary. Third, obtain a list of adjectives that people typically put on a resume and write each on a separate sheet of paper. Examples of adjectives include innovation, discipline, and cooperation. Now, put those pieces of paper in a box, randomly draw three to five pieces of paper per respondent, and record the results. Fourth, the results should be formatted professionally and scientifically, using the adjectives and their dictionary definitions. Make one sheet for each participant, a complete list of all adjectives and their definitions, and a summary of the adjectives for the entire group. Fifth, gather the group, provide them with their personalized adjectives, review how each adjective adds value, break them into groups, and have them discuss the findings and their adjectives. If anyone questions their adjectives, claim that the test also assesses what they see in themselves or what they desire to achieve. Just build vague-specific connections and point out single examples that make the case, or ask them what in their life prevents this adjective from happening. Humans are great at finding patterns where there are none so that people will see its value regardless of the scientific validity regarding human personality. Finally, sit back as the placebo effect takes hold and people start to talk and work together better. If you think all of this is bullshit, it is. However, virtually every personality test on the market used by businesses is also bullshit. In the best case, they are a mirror reflecting what the person wants to see. The only value they bring is reflection and discussion. They should never be used to make any decisions based on their bullshit frameworks. If one follows the outlined approach, one will save much money and get the same questionable benefit. #### Related Items [[Organization]] [[Return-on-Investment]] [[Personality]] [[Science]] [[Analytics]] [[Radicals]] [[Teams]] [[Placebo Effect]]
