# The Anchor of Existence

Many people do not concern themselves with meaning. Instead, they focus on existence. There is no why beyond thinly vailed ideas of tradition and norms. However, those who involve themselves with meaning fall into the same trapping of existence. Why do they search for meaning? Many will state it is to exist. Thus, the circle is complete, and one ends where one began. For most of humanity, this is existence at the peak of being. This has served us well. The innate desire to exist and for deeper explorations to arrive at the same conclusion of existence perpetuates us as a species and society. Some may say alternative analyses of the situation can only exist briefly by definition. If existence is subservient to other ideas, our society built on existing to exist will not perpetuate them beyond our many warning myths. There is a reason why nearly all philosophical, scientific, and religious roads lead to existence as a prime directive. We are not programmed to handle any alternative as a life form fighting against the universe's chaos. However, one's search for meaning does not need to reflect the existence bias exclusively. One could place it to the side as a known and inescapable bias. When acknowledging existence in this way, one can explore meaning a bit more, even if tied to the anchor of existence. This exploration will be confusing. One may think they've found something new only to realize it is the rope tied around them leading them back to the existence anchor. While on this journey it is important to remember that the color blue in a world that has never seen blue will think it is a shade of green and likely say it is an abomination.
