# So, What's it Like? By:: [[Ross Jackson]] 2023-04-29 In elementary school, one might live in a neighborhood that contains older children. Those older children might tell stories about junior high (or middle school), which conveys that the children in elementary school better watch out because junior high is much more difficult (or dangerous). The elementary school kids are then facing junior high with trepidation. By the time they get there, they find that the transition was no big deal, and while different, it is largely the same. Once in junior high, these older kids will tell them what high school is like…better watch out, high school is tough, etc. And once again, the kids eventually get to high school only to discover it is much the same. This plays out again and again, for college, for career, for marriage, for retirement, and even for death. So, what’s it like? It is like whatever the rest of life is like. A person takes about 90% of what they experience with them. It is why despite all the inherent differences of context and surrounding one feels that it is always the same. Some people figure this out by high school; others, never do. #### Related Items [[Education]] [[Development]] [[Experience]] [[Life]] [[Learning]]
