# Slow Changes and Impact By:: [[Brian Heath]] 2023-03-25 Sometimes it is hard to see the impact you make as an analyst. As you get closer to the business, you'll naturally become a part of conversations that subtly influence the group. Maybe you'll bring new data to the table or ask how success is measured. At the time these small acts will seem insignificant, but like the Butterfly Effect the impact may eventually be large. The trouble is this impact takes months to unfold. It is so slow that you won't even notice it. Until one day, you'll reflect upon how different things are and that maybe you had an impact. In all likelihood, you'll never get outspoken credit as organizations and people are rarely mindful enough to recognize the changes occurring inside themselves, let alone how those changes happened or got started. Thus, the analyst must be self-assured that they had a part in the progress because analysts know better than anyone the challenges of absolute certainty. All models are wrong, so there is always an alternative explanation. #### Related Items [[Models]] [[Analytics]] [[Performance]] [[Work]]
