# Meetings to Fill the Time

An excellent way to slow things down is to meet constantly. If one schedules one-on-one meetings with everyone in the organization, one can quickly fill an entire year with nothing but meetings. No organization would ever go out of business if performance and profitability were based on meetings. This shows how virtually all work is pointless. We are well beyond needing to spend 40 hours a week on work, but we are stuck in this paradigm. So, we fill it with meetings and slow things down. What could take a day takes a month. What could take a month takes five years.
