# It's Over By:: [[Brian Heath]] 2023-03-13 Funny things happen when we realize it is over. Whether it is a project, organization, novel, war, or health struggle, people act very differently than before. For the most part, stress is gone, structures fall apart, and peace is found. There isn't any other choice, and something true about our humanity and solidarity with each other emerges. People may have scars from the battle, feel sad, or have a million other negative things, but it's over. Best to just accept it, and in that moment of acceptance you are open to many more possibilities. You see through the hype and rhetoric to see what it meant. If you happen to be with someone else who also realizes it is over, you can have a beer with them and enjoy the moment with a new or closer friend. Most organizations and people celebrate beginnings. The future is bright, and we continue to look ahead. Other people and cultures celebrate their past above all things. Wasn't high school the greatest? They celebrate the same events every year and remember the good days of yesteryear. By comparison, we rarely celebrate when something is over at that very moment. Sure there are occasions when we celebrate the end of wars or even life in that very moment. But celebrating the end of something when it happens is highly underrated. It is celebrating the present and appreciating what is different. One that is not jaded by the past and obscured by the future. Realizing the boulder is no longer on your shoulders is appreciating the momentary relief from the endless suffering of life. #### Related Items [[Time]] [[Solidarity]] [[The Human Condition]] [[Analysis of the Present is the Future]]
