# Giving Up

When should you give up? Maybe you've tried to make a difference and failed, or you tried to get that job and it didn't work out. Perhaps it's not in the cards, and it's time to come to peace with your reality. However, what if the continuous struggle is the point? Is this just rationalizing your continued [[failure]] or the discovery of something with more coherent depth? It's hard to say. There are so many factors at play that the answer is very personal.
Maybe you should give up because you aren't viewing the problem in the right paradigm, or maybe your perspective is innovated and that innovation needs constant nurturing. Maybe you don't have the smarts to achieve your goal, or maybe you are too smart and no one understands you. Maybe your emotions betray you, or maybe they are the reason you'll keep going on. Maybe your life experiences have yet to add up to the moment you need to achieve your goal, or maybe they are pulling you in a different direction and away from more suffering. It's hard to say.
What can be said is that giving up one thing is choosing something else. A choice will be made one way or another. The question isn't about giving up, but about how deeply you are willing to analyze yourself and the world around you.
