# Getting Ahead By:: [[Ross Jackson]] 2023-05-23 Can one ever get ahead at work? What does getting ahead mean when work continues to be generated and needs to be accomplished? Perhaps the key to “getting ahead” at work is to be far enough ahead that deadlines are not the stressful, forcing function they can be. If one gets ahead at work, one has options. One can pursue quality. The opportunity exists to make things better than they otherwise would be. Quality is possible. Obtaining likely requires more time than is allocated for a given assignment. This would mean one needs to get ahead of the work so that there is sufficient time to make it good.
