# Finding Something Interesting By:: [[Ross Jackson]] 2024-08-08 Banality is pervasive. As one struggles against the banality of existence, the key is to find something interesting. It matters very little what one finds. Whatever “it” is, one will engage with it and explore its many facets. As one does, one will become part of a group. One is united with others in one’s interest. This focus may be one’s career. More often, the area of focus is one’s hobby. Either way, one invests energy and attention into something. It is the energy and attention that is important, not the area of focus. Engagement in the world enriches one’s existence. Finding something of interest is the only antidote to banality. Left to its own, life is crushing. Entropy works against us all. Pursuing one’s interest is a rebellion against the banality of existence.    #### Related Items [[Interests]] [[Life]] [[Banal]] [[Purpose]] [[Existential]] [[Rebel]]
