# Finding Enough - Synthesis A By:: [[Ross Jackson]] 2026-01-10 In economics there is a concept referred to as satisficing. Under this notion, one does not maximize (which is the standard assumption of economics). Rather, one makes do with the minimally acceptable amount. Under satisficing, one confronts the lower threshold of enough. Most people spend most of their time between impoverishment and opulence. This can be a wide or narrow range. Whatever its span, people are attempting navigate their life, their personal relationships, career, and society between and among these parameters. Ambition ends where enough begins. This makes determining enough an important consideration in life. In terms of work, material wealth and positions, status, enough has a limiting function. But in terms of things like thinking and peace, enough plays a different and intriguing role. Reaching a point of enough peace or thinking likely leads to a point of action. After a certain point one should likely do something. Attempt to make things better. Beyond enough is either more of the same or something different. Confronting enough in its many manifestations provides a basis for better. #### Related Items [[Enough]] [[Economics]] [[Life]] [[Thinking]]
