# Filling Up the Walls By:: [[Brian Heath]] 2023-08-06 When you move into a new place, the walls are bare. Over time you hang items on the walls, and the place transforms. Even minimalists will put something on the wall - if for no other reason than to highlight how minimal it is. There is a big difference between minimal (or something) and nothing. Choosing to hang a painting or décor shows one's intentions. Does one agonize over what the walls say about one's life? Maybe one wants to replicate a look one saw on Pinterest. In the age of choice, we have much more to consider than what to hang on the walls. Every moment options are presented, and it's easy to think about the blank walls. It is much harder to think about the unexamined choices we make daily. What is one's purpose? What is one's contribution? We quickly fill up these intangible walls with little thought if we aren't careful and intentional. Without curation, these walls will soon fill with a decidedly incoherent mess of ideas and values. One quickly becomes a hoarder, and these "walls" will consume the entire space one has to move and live within. #### Related Items [[Purpose]] [[Meaning]] [[Thinking]] [[Intention]] [[Decision-making]] [[The Age of Choice]]
