# External and Internal Analysis By:: [[Ross Jackson]] 2024-10-15 To the degree that organizations are interested in analytics, which is likely less than you think, they are almost exclusively interested in the analysis of external elements. Organizations might be interested in forecasting macroeconomic variables or understanding consumer dynamics. Seldom are they interested in using analysis to look inward and understand the dynamics of how they operate. There might be several reasons why this is the case. Perhaps an accurate assessment of the economy can help the organization maximize profits. Maybe understanding their consumers better will help them increase sales. However, it might be that they are afraid of what they would find if the turned their gaze inward. Internal analysis can reveal more than they want to know. Analysis can be useful either way. Just like individuals, organizations benefit from self-reflection. Analysis can help only if the organization is open to what is discovered. #### Related Items [[Analytics]] [[Organization]] [[Insights]] [[Interests]] [[Reflection]]
