# Drawing Conclusions

A comic strip by Hector D. Cantu and Carlos Castellanos is titled “Baldo.” In one of the comic strips, a girl shoots an arrow at a wooden fence. She then runs to the fence with a can of paint and a paintbrush. She paints a target around the arrow already stuck in the fence, giving the illusion that she hit a bullseye. In the final panel of the comic strip, she stands back and admires her accomplishment.
It can be tempting to work the data at hand into the story we want to tell, both in our professional lives and in our personal lives. It is important to keep a critical eye and follow accurate procedures to ensure we draw objective conclusions.
