# Definitional Power - Synthesis B

We all know that person who needs to correct everyone's definitions, and let me be clear: they're not just annoying, they're actively making the world worse. Definitions are social constructions, but when you understand what I'm saying and still choose to "well, actually" me about my word choice, you're not clarifying shit. You're just being a power-hungry asshole who thinks their version of language is the only one that counts. You can dress this up as "atypical usage" or some polite academic bullshit, but at the end of the day, if you're doing this in front of other people, you're trying to dominate the conversation and make everyone dance to your definitional tune. The beautiful irony? These people are too stupid to realize they're shooting themselves in the foot. Every time they pull this move, they're not building understanding. They're building resentment. They're showing everyone exactly who they are: someone more interested in being right than being understood, someone who'd rather freeze language in place like a tyrant than let it grow with the people using it. So, go ahead and correct my definitions. All you're doing is making it crystal clear that you're the kind of person the rest of us need to avoid, resist, and ultimately ignore. At the same time, we keep moving forward together, creating new meanings that actually matter.
