# Becoming a Great Manager By:: [[Brian Heath]] 2023-06-26 How does one become a great manager? It is better to start by understanding what a great manager is. While entirely subjective, a great manager is the metamodern embodiment of a fully integrated paradox. They synthesize all eras of truth and operate intentionally as a self and a collective for the solidarity of all. They recognize the suffering, the systems, and the means of production and know how to move forward in ironic sincerity. They are not a manager but a leader elected to have a management title by their peers. They want and don't want this title. They value the practical and the fantastic. They are simultaneously the agent of the organization, the people, other individuals, and themselves. They always think and only act when it is essential for progress. They position, align, and remove while climbing systemic ladders to build something better for all beyond the current constraints. They value humanity and psychology while doing the mathematics of survival. So, how does one become a great manager? Thinking, reading, reflecting, experiencing, and challenging the status quo. One can only get there by understanding the paradox one will become. #### Related Items [[Management]] [[Metamodernism]] [[Thinking]] [[Solidarity]] [[Economics]] [[Business]] [[Progress]] [[Paradox]] [[The Human Condition]] [[Status Quo]]
